This newly released CD consists of nine historical songs about Kapetan Zaharias Barbitsiotis. These songs are the work of Peter Thomas, Zois Dimakos and Thanasis Dimakos. Zaharias Barbitsiotis is considered one of the greatest heroes in Modern Greek History. He was the forefather of the 1821 Greek Revolution, because he planned and made preparations for the uprising of the enslaved Greek people. There have been many songs written and sung about Zaharias, honoring his heroism and bravery. But this is the first time that a number of songs about Zaharias has been put together into one package.
